Connecting hungry believers

Christ Aroma online Community is not for all Christians simply because not all believers are interested in walking this path. So what is it about and how is it different from what many modern Christians are practicing? This is where it gets tricky. So let’s start by saying what it is not.

It’s not about being part of a certain Church Denomination or organisation. In fact, most believers we seek to connect, don´t attend any organized church. At the same time you can find such believers in most, if not all Christian denominations. A few of them have the privilege of experiencing some kind of body life, a spontaneous expression of the Life of Christ in a group of believers experiencing life together. But most don´t.

It’s not about super spiritual people. On the contrary, these believers are keenly conscious of their own lack of spirituality. Their inadequacy makes them aware of their desperate need for Christ Jesus to be in them what they cannot be.

Hunger and thirst for Christ Jesus defines these believers. On one hand, because they are sorely aware of their lack and inadequacy, on the other, because they have glimpsed His immeasurable worth and incomparable beauty.

They have counted the cost and found that He is worthy to take first place in all things, beginning with their own lives. They have not figured everything out but His love compels them to know Him and exist for Him, rather than living the Christian life as if He exists for them.

The Path we speak of is Christ Himself. Making Him our All.

The cost of walking this path is high. It demands everything we are. But the cost pales compared to the Reward: Intimately knowing the most beautiful Person in the Universe, love Him and receive His love in an eternal love affair no words can describe.

Everybody is called to walk this path but not all respond. We seek to connect those who respond.

We are seeking to connect people desiring to be like Mary, not the ones content to be as Martha.

Both loved Jesus and He loved them. But Martha wanted control of her life. She wanted to serve Christ and gain recognition for what she did. She was busy doing things for Jesus, assuming that was what He wanted but never stopping to ask Him. In stead she tried to get Him to recognise and bless what she was doing in His name. She was busy with too many important things working for God to stop and give Him the attention and adoration He deserves.

Mary, however, was drawn to the magnetic Person of Christ and could focus on nothing but Him. Martha focused on things she did for Christ  and things He did for her while Mary focused on Christ Himself.

Mary laid down her life at His feet and became saturated with Him. She had given up trying to control her life, knowing her inadequacy. Instead, she offered the broken pieces of her life, willing for Him to be her Life.

Martha and Mary both live in all of us. But Christ is calling us to become more like Mary. He is calling us to break our precious alabaster jar and anoint Him with the offering of our very lives, all that we are. When we anoint Him with the offering of ourselves, no matter the state we’re in, He anoints us with His very Life which becomes ours and we become the aroma of Christ. This is not a single occasion but an ongoing process, it’s a way of life.

The corporate expression of this lifestyle is when people who are learning to live by the Indwelling Life of Christ, share their lives and love one another as Christ loves them. Christ then becomes visible as His body on Earth functions. This is the Testimony of God in the world. People will know Christ is who He said He was because His followers allow His Life in them and His love for them to rebound to each other in a corporate expression of Christ. This Testimony of indigenous colonies of the Eternal Kingdom is sorely lacking.

Christ Aroma Online Community exists for those who have chosen the lifestyle of Christ and for those who want to learn Christ.

We believe God will use this platform to connect these believers to aid them in their pursuit of Christ and introduce this way of life to people who are deep down seeking to walk Him who is the Path.

We also offer this platform as a means for God to connect people to potentially become corporate, indigenous expressions of Christ in their local community. However, Christ Aroma will never become a Church denomination or exert any kind of control over groups of believers, only influence.

For a deeper impartation on what it means to be a believer hungry for Christ, we recommend Martha Kilpatrick’s Adoration, Frank Viola’s God’s Favorite Place On Earth and Chip Brodgen’s Minister to the Lord.
